How to Display Blog Content into Multiple Columns in Index Page?

One of the common questions most blogger asked is how to display wordpress blog content into multiple columns? There are many reasons for doing so, some may want to save space on their blogs’ home page and display as many posts as possible. Some may want to attract their readers to stay a little longer and at the same time, make their blogs look content-rich and mature.

If you are using Headway Premium Wordpress theme, it can be done easily in just few steps.

Follow the below steps to do it.
  1. In wordpress dashboard, go to “Headway” and click on “Configuration”.
  2. Click on “Post/Comments” then check the box beside “Enable Small Excerpts”.
  3. Once you enable the small excerpts, all the posts on your blog home page will be displayed in multiple columns.
  4. If you like to feature some of your outstanding posts, you can change the number in the “Featured Posts” to any number you like.
  5. Then click on “Save Changes” to save.
  6. If, however, there is no featured post displayed (it was said it could due to bug) then you can try a different method.
  7. Go to the Visual editor and under the “Blog Index” page, click on the “Pencil icon” to open up the option for the single post option.
  8. Make sure the Mode is set to “Custom Posts Query”.
  9. At the “Featured Posts”, fill in the number you want to feature, for e.g. 3.
  10. Then click on “Save all Changes” to save.
  11. You will now see 3 featured posts displayed in your blog home page while the rest of the posts are displayed in multiple columns.
If, for some reasons, you regretted, you do not want to display your contents in multiple columns, it is still reversible. Just go back to the above steps and undo the steps you have done. It will be back to normal. Very simple!
